We will remember them

The National Covid Memorial Wall is a public mural made up of thousands of red and pink hearts, one for each of the approximately 150,000 UK casualties of the pandemic. Amongst them are the names of Albert Bendin and Patrick Sweeney, much loved and sadly missed fathers of two of our own Sisters. Stretching more than a third of a mile along the South Bank of the River Thames, the mural reflects an enormous outpouring of public grief. Each heart is, as someone said, “individually hand-painted; utterly unique, just like the loved ones we’ve lost”.

To you, Lord,

my tears are precious.

Collect them in your bottle

so that none might fall

unheeded.
